Elk Point RCMP Investigate Theft of Gas

Lakeland Connect has been contacted by the Outrider Truckstop owner, Aaron Arbo, who reports that the suspect has come forward and restitution has been made for the stolen fuel.

The image of the suspect has been removed from this article at the request of Arbo who is satisfied with the restitution and will not be pursuing the matter further.

 

Update #2

A gas theft suspect has been identified thanks to media assistance and public tips.  The Elk Point RCMP are no longer seeking assistance in identifying the male, and accordingly, request that his photo be removed from all public media sites.

On April 7 the Elk Point RCMP launched an investigation into the theft of gas at a local station.  A request was put for assistance in identifying the male suspect and several tips were received.

The RCMP are pleased to note that the community was very supportive in this investigation.  There will be no further updates on this incident.

RCMP request information on suspected fuel thief.

Today at approximately 5:00 a.m., Elk Point RCMP responded to a theft of fuel at a gas station in Elk Point. A male fueled up a truck and then fled the area driving westbound on Highway 646.

The male driver of the truck was wearing:

  • Blue hoodie with a quicksilver logo on the front
  • Blue or Black jeans
  • Black cowboy hat

 

The vehicle is described as:

  • Black truck
  • Tinted rear windows
  • Tires in back

 

Elk Point RCMP made patrols in the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.
