Bonnyville Municipal Census Information

Last Updated: April 3, 2017By Tags: ,

The Town of Bonnyville is conducting a 2017 municipal census beginning April 1, 2017.  You will receive your PIN in the mail shortly.

You will be able to go online April 1st, access the census link and fill out the census form.  It will only take a few minutes.  You can also access the link on your mobile device.  If your census is completed online by 4 p.m. on April 23, 2017, you are automatically entered into a draw to win an ipad.  Enumerators will start going door to door on April 24 to contact you if you have not completed your census.

Maintenance outages will be occurring on Thursday, April 6 and Monday May 15.  The census site will be unavailable from 10:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. on each day.

We are counting on you!  It is very important that we include each and every one of our residents in our 2017 Census.  Population figures are critical to claim per capita grants.  Each person counted in our census helps us receive over an estimated $300 per person in grant funding from the provincial and federal governments!

Population figures are also required to calculate cost-sharing agreements with other municipalities such as the Municipal District of Bonnyville and the City of Cold Lake.  It is important that each municipality pays its fair share when it comes to sharing facilities and services.

Other uses of population figures are to indicate trends and growth patterns, estimating number of eligible voters, planning for schools and school transportation etc.

We appreciate your participation to ensure that our census is thorough and accurate and thank you in advance for contributing to the success of this very important project.  Any information collected will only be used for the purposes for which it is collected and will be protected under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIP) Act.
