Woman Charged after Man Stabbed in Throat

24 year old female remanded into custody following incident.

On March 20th, at 3:30 am, the Cold Lake RCMP responded to a domestic dispute, at English Bay, that resulted in a Cold Lake First Nation’s male being stabbed in the throat.

The victim was transported to hospital, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries and later released. Constable Dave Hart, with the Cold Lake Detachment, says the last update the police received, “the male was recovering fine,” from the incident.

Cold Lake RCMP arrested & charged a 24 year old female, Cheylene Charland, for aggravated assault in relation to the incident. Charland appeared before a Justice of the Peace and was remanded until her next court date, set for April 12th.
