Police Remain Quiet Regarding Civil Emergency

RCMP have not yet released information regarding what may have caused a civil emergency to be declared near St. Brides on Sunday evening. Just before 9:00 pm, on Sunday, County of St. Paul Emergency Services released an emergency notification that an “incident was taking place near St. Brides.”

Highway 36 was closed and traffic was diverted to Highway 28, 41, and 646 during the evening. The public was asked to stay clear of the area.

LCN has yet to receive information from the RCMP regardining the incident. According to Emergency Services, a Civil Emergency “is a warning created by the National Weather Service meant to warn of an in-progress or imminent significant threat(s) to public safety and/or property.”
