Cold Lake down 3 games to 0 in Killiam series

It’s do or die Wednesday evening at Imperial Oil Place as the Cold Lake Ice are down three games to none in their post-season series against the Killiam Wheat Kings. Head Coach of the Ice, Scott Hood says it all lies in the player’s willingness to succeed.

“The same thing (is hurting) us, simple mistakes. It’s mental (element) by our guys, you can’t be making those mistakes against Killiam, they’re a good team. Next thing you know, there’s three pucks at the back of the net and we’re down 3-0; game over,” coach Hood, says the team has got to come out of their own heads to win the mental game.

The club will be practicing with a light skate on Tuesday evening, before welcoming the Wheat Kings on Wednesday. “Just a light skate, there’s nothing you can do. Can’t correct the mistakes we’re making out there in practice. Guys need to want to pay the price in battle and we’re not doing it. We’re down 3-0 for it.”

The Cold Lake Ice dropped game 1 & 2 in Killiam 7-4 and 5-1, on Wednesday and Friday (respectively). The Ice then welcomed Killiam on Saturday evening with a 3-2 loss. Killiam returns on Wednesday at 8:30 pm in a must-win game for the Ice.
