The St Paul Canadiens traveled to Frog Lake on Sunday, to get another crack at the team that ended their 17 game win-streak. Head Coach of the St Paul Canadiens, says the T-Birds are great at seizing opportunities, so the club had to stay disciplined to pull out the 4-3 win.

“They take advantage of the stakes and Sunday we turned the puck over quite a bit in our own zone and couldn’t get the puck out. They had a lot of pressure on us; but we were able to withstand it.” The T-Birds opened the game with the sole goal in the first period from  Michael Cardinal.

“When we had our chances we made good on them,”  Braydon Burak waited until 14:01 in the second to respond, with help from  Dyson Roy and Brodin Ference. The T-Birds fired back a minute later with the tie-breaker from Jacob Anderson. The Canadiens were able to close the gap before the end of 40 with a goal from Damon Roy, assist to Jareh Gray.

The game was tied at two at the start of the third, when Canadiens’ Dyson Roy with Braydon Burak and Brodin Ference took the lead. The T-Birds responded quickly to tie it up again, with a goal from Courage Omeasoo. “Luckily, we got the winner, with about 14 seconds left in the game,” Coach Joe Young says Kona Jackson has really come through for the club.

Jackson, a trained defenseman, was pulled up to forward just a few games ago and has really been shining, says Coach Young. “He played defense for us all last year and for the first 16 games this season,” Young says it was a simple move in the roster that had Jackson looking to play forward. “We decided to try him up front and it’s worked out pretty amazing, so far.”

The Canadiens have two home games on the schedule for this weekend, Friday versus Killiam and Saturday when the T-Birds come to the Clancy Richard Arena. WIN tickets on LCN!
