Two police vehicles damaged in incident

On December 7, 2016, at approximately 3:20 p.m. Cold Lake RCMP responded to the sighting of a stolen vehicle near No Frills Grocery Store in Cold Lake and subsequently located it in an adjacent parking lot.
 Upon arrival of the RCMP, the suspect vehicle fled the area ramming two police vehicles during an attempted escape.  A low speed pursuit ensued through the City of Cold Lake ending on 51 Avenue at 41 Street.
The suspect vehicle was unable to travel at high speeds due to a disabled front tire.  The suspect was arrested without incident.  27 year old Loewen Henry Wolfe of Island Lake First Nation, SK has been charged with the following offences:
  • Assaulting a Police Officer With a Weapon x 2.
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000.00.
  • Flight from Police While Being Pursued.
  • Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
  • Fail to Remain at the Scene of an Accident.
  • Obstruction of a Police Officer.
  • Fail to Comply with a Recognizance.
  • Possession of Methamphetamine.
  • Possession of Cocaine.
  • Operating a Motor Vehicle Without a Driver’s Licence.
  • Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance.
Two warrants for arrest were also executed on Loewen Wolfe.  Loewen Wolfe has been remanded into custody and will next appear at Cold Lake Provincial Court on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at 10:00 a.m.  The Cold Lake RCMP would like to thank the public for their patience as the RCMP brought this unfolding event to a safe conclusion.
