Hourie Charges with 13 Offenses following Dec 4th Arrest

Cold Lake Man will appear in court via CCTV Dec 14th

As a result of Morgan Hourie’s December 4, 2016, arrest, he has been charged with the following additional offences:
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000.00
  • Break and Enter and Commit.
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance.
  • Resist Arrest.
  • Possession of a Prohibited Firearm.
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm.
  • Careless Use of a Firearm.
  • Possession of a Prohibited Firearm while Prohibited.
  • Possession of Ammunition while Prohibited.
  • Fail to Comply With a Recognizance x 4.
In addition to these additional charges, 4 outstanding warrants for his arrest were also executed.  Morgan Hourie has been remanded into custody and will be appearing via CCTV at Cold Lake Provincial Court on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at 10:00 a.m.
Background
On December 3rd, Cold Lake RCMP put out a media release that they were seeking the public’s assistance in locating 31 year old Morgan Brent Hourie of Cold Lake.  Morgan Hourie is currently wanted on the following charges stemming from incidents on June 27, 2016 and October 10, 2016, in Cold Lake.
Morgan Hourie had been charged with the following offences:
  • Break and Enter and Commit x 2.
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000.00.
  • Mischief Under $5000.00.
  • Fail to Comply with a Recognizance x 2.
  • Possession of a Weapon Contrary to a Prohibition Order.
  • Possession of a Weapon for the Purpose of Committing an Offence.
On December 4, 2016, at approximately 5:30 p.m. Cold Lake RCMP arrested Morgan Hourie and (2) adult females at a rural residence near Ardmore, Alberta.  Cold Lake RCMP was assisted by RCMP Police Dog Services.  The RCMP’s Emergency Response Team was on route to assist at the time of the arrests.
