St. Paul Mayor & Council Vote Not to Increase Salary

The Town of St Paul Mayor and Council set their 2017 salary, or remuneration as it’s known in the municipal government world, on Monday evening during their regular council meeting. Town Council voted unanimously for no increase in their 2017 salary, per diems and expenses.

For 2017 the Mayor of St. Paul will receive $2,600 monthly, while Councillors will each receive $1,500. This is a zero increase from 2016 and 2015. The last time the monthly salaries of Mayor and Council were increase was from 2014 to 2015 when the each increased by $100 a month.

The remuneration for attending meetings will stay the same in 2016, as well. Mayor and Council receive the same per diem, $225 for four hours or more and $135 for less than four hours. The per diem for meetings was increased in 2015 to 2016, from $185 for four hours of more to $225; however the $135 for less than four hours stayed the same.

Mayor and Council each will have a $5,000 a year budget  for approved expenditures; including, per diems, travel expenses, and office expenses.
