A Cold Lake RCMP member was on routine patrol on 50th avenue on November 22nd around 1:00 am, when the officer observed an individual exiting a vehicle who was known to be on several conditions.

25 year old Andrew Heigh was arrested and charged with three counts of failing to comply with a recognizance.

Heigh was under conditions following an incident on February 23rd where he was charged following a traffic stop, explains S/Sgt of the Cold Lake Detachment, Jeremie Landry. “The traffic stop lead to the seizure of controlled substances. He was charged in February with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and methamphetamine. Careless use of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and unauthorized possession of a firearm.”

Those charges lead to the conditions that he was believed to be in breach of on November 22nd, explains S/Sgt Landry. “He had conditions to abstain from to possession and consumption of alcohol, not to possess a cell phone or other mobile device and he had to abide by a curfew between the hours of 9:00 pm and 5:00 am.”

Heigh was brought before a justice of peace and remanded into custody until his next court appearance on December 14th.
