Traffic Stop Leads to Significant Drug Seizure

On October 14, 2016, at approximately 4:50 p.m. Cold Lake RCMP responded to a call for assistance from Cold Lake Community Peace Officers to assist with a vehicle stop in the City of Cold Lake.  RCMP members arrived and after an investigation arrested the driver of the vehicle, 56 year old Ernest Marcellus of Cherry Grove, Alberta.  RCMP seized 7.76 pounds of cannabis marihuana and approximately 163 grams of cannabis resin.

Ernest Marcellus has been charged with possession of cannabis marihuana for the purpose of trafficking and will be making an appearance at Cold Lake Provincial Court on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at 10 a.m.
