Assaulting a Police Officer
On October 31st at 10:20 pm, Cold Lake RCMP received a phone call regarding a female who was walking along 16th street and 16th avenue. The complainant reported that the female appeared to be heavily intoxicated.
When members arrived on the scene, the female was found laying on the ground and was uncooperative. While RCMP members attempted to arrest the female for public intoxication, she kicked one of the RCMP members.
A 15 year old female, from Elizabeth Metis Settlement has charges pending for assaulting a police officer.
Near Miss with Police Cruiser
On October 30th at 10:24 pm, while RCMP members were patrolling 50th street in Cold Lake a vehicle nearly struck the police cruiser. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was arrested. Two breath samples were taken that displayed alcohol in the driver’s system, but less than the legal limit.
A 35 year old male from Edmonton was given a 72 hour suspension.
Driving without Insurance or Registration
On October 28th, a member of the Cold Lake RCMP pulled over a vehicle, traveling on Highway 28, at 3:15 pm for an expired registration. During the traffic stop it was discovered that the vehicle was not insured. The vehicle was towed and the female driver, from Meadow Lake, will appear in court on Dec 14th.
On October 31st, a vehicle was pulled over at 8:40 am for having a dirty license plate. During the traffic stop it was discovered the registration was expired and the vehicle did not have insurance. The vehicle was towed and a 52 year old man from Water Hen Lake will appear in court on Dec. 14th.
The fine for driving without insurance is $2875.00
Impaired
On October 30th the Cold Lake RCMP were conduction a checkstop on 40th avenue Cold Lake. At approximately 2:00 am a female pulled up to the checkstop and displayed signs of being impaired. A road side test and breath samples were taken that displayed the female blowing over the legal limit.
A 20 year old female, from Iron River, will appear at a Cold Lake Provincial court on Dec. 14th. There were no other impaired from this checkstop.
