Two females have died in fatal MVC near Myrnam

At approximately 1:30 p.m. today, Two Hills RCMP and an RCMP collision analyst responded to a fatal collision near Myrnam, Alberta.  RCMP determined that a north bound SUV proceeded from a stop sign on Highway 881 at Highway 45 and was subsequently struck on the passenger’s side by a west bound semi-truck.  The (37) year old female driver from Niagra Falls, Ontario, and a (32) year old female from Victoria, British Columbia, died at the scene.  A (12) year old boy from Niagra Falls, Ontario, was taken to Two Hills Hospital by ground ambulance with non life threatening injuries.  A (8) year old boy from Niagra Falls, Ontario, was taken to Two Hills Hospital by ground ambulance and then by STARS to the Stollery Children’s Hospital in serious but non life threatening condition.  Two Hills RCMP would like local residents to be on the look out for a 4 year old black and white Border Collie who answers to the name Oliver.  The Border Collie was involved in the collision but cannot be located and is believed to have run away.  RCMP will not be releasing the names of the persons involved in the collision.
UPDATE:
The RCMP would like to thank the public for looking out for the lost Border Collie named “Oliver” who was involved in this collision.  Unfortunately, Oliver was found deceased a short distance away from the crash site under some bushes.

Fatal Collision involving semi-truck and vehicle

Two Hills RCMP along with Fire and EMS are currently on scene of a fatal motor vehicle collision on Highway 45 and Highway 881 near Myrnam, Alberta involving a semi-truck and vehicle. The investigation is ongoing and it is expected to take several hours.

RCMP say No further information is available at this time. LCN will have an update when available.

RCMP request the public to avoid the area as traffic is being re-route.
