Yes My Chef! travels home for comfort & delight at Mama’s Italian

I made a trip back to our home town and took my family out to Mama’s. Many of the Lakeland readers may remember Regeda and Camille from their restaurant in Vermilion. They’ve been in Thorhild for 5 years or so.

I had a donair with no pita bread. I love the sweet sauce. Delicious!

My family ordered pizza. They all agree that the pizza crust is one of the best, thick and chewy but never doughy. Mama’s is fairly generous with the toppings as well.

There have been a lot of changes to this restaurant. I remember when it opened when I was in high school. It was a dark steak house. Over the years the décor has changed. Recently the owners installed new floors, added a wall to the server’s station and changed the light fixtures to beautiful airy chandeliers. It’s still and will always be Thorhild’s family restaurant.

If you are over in the Thorhild area, Mama’s pizza is a definite must and you will find one of the best donairs around.
