52 yr old Cold Lake Man Arrested following B&E

RCMP are looking for more suspects involved in this case

The Cold Lake RCMP have arrested a 52 year old man from Cold Lake following a rural break and enter. “This case is interesting, there’s more that what it initially appears,” Sergaent Troy Hadland of the Cold Lake Detachment, says the RCMP believe there are more suspects in this case; which started with a break and enter on September 28th.

At 3:00 pm the Cold Lake Detachment received a 911 call reporting a break and enter at a residence on Township Road 630 and Range Road 414. The caller reported that the house had been broken into and a side by side along with a a 2013 Chevy Silverado had been stolen.

Later in the evening the Cold Lake RCMP located the stolen truck and had barricaded it in with a police vehicle. The suspects however managed to escape the barricade by ramming the stolen truck into the police vehicle and driving away.

Then at around 2:00 am, on the 29th, the Cold Lake RCMP received a complaint of a motor vehicle collision on the round-a-bout at 50th and Veteran’s way. Witness report that the suspects fled the scene of the accident and then were picked up by an unknown vehicle. The vehicle involved in the accident was found to be the stolen truck from the break and enter and the same truck that had rammed a police car the previous day.

Cold Lake RCMP have arrested a 52 year old man, from Cold Lake, in relation to the break and enter and theft. The name of the man arrested was not available at the time of this publication because charges had not formerly been sworn.

The investigation is on-going and police believe there are multiple suspects involved in the all three incidents.  If you have any information on any of the incidents please contact the Cold Lake Detachment at 780-594-3302 or Crimestoppers 1-800-222-TIPS (8477)
