Town Hall Meeting called following Spike in Rural Theft
RCMP respond to rural theft
An increase in theft on rural properties has the RCMP taking measures to help inform the public on how to better protect their property. Cst. Jeffery Rosom, with the Bonnyville RCMP Detachment, says that the Goodridge area has been a “hot spot” for theft recently and as such, has called a Town Hall Meeting for Friday, September 9th, at 6:30 pm at the Goodridge Hall.
The meeting is open to the public, says Cst. Rosom, “it is designed to be an information gathering where the community and the RCMP can have a discussion about the rise in property crime in the area of Goodridge.” Cst. Rosom explains “through this meeting I hope to be able to develop more effective strategies for combating the rise in crime in the area.” Any member of the public interested in the meeting is welcome to attend.
If you have any information on a crime or have witnessed suspicious activity, contact Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or report it to your local detachment.
