City-Wide Sale Surpasses 75 Locations

Over 75 sales have been registered for the City of Cold Lake’s City-Wide Sale, happening Aug. 27 and 28.

“The response for this event has been extremely popular,” said Mayor Craig Copeland. “We have had a lot of people saying they will be coming in to the city to shop for the weekend.”

The number of registered sales includes both private sales at people’s homes, and local businesses. While businesses are already pinned on the sale map, residential sales will be revealed closer to the date of the sale. “We encourage people to check online and plan their route,” said Copeland. “There will be a lot of places to go, so fortunately treasure-seekers will have two days to search for great deals.”

The City-Wide Sale was proposed by three volunteers: Lorie Jacobsen, Elizabeth Mackay, and Mecell Pilon. They came to City Council for support with the idea of a city-wide event, and the city was on board. “These ladies have been a big part in making this event a reality,” said Copeland. “Without their dedicated effort and hard work, it would not have been the success that it is.”

People interested in signing up for the City-Wide Sale can still do so by heading to http://coldlakesale.wixsite.com/coldlakecitysale — which is where all of the pins will become available for shoppers to plan ahead. Official participants will have a sign in their yard designating them as a City-Wide Sale participant.

Lakeland Connect will be live in the City of Cold Lake August 27th, for more on this exciting event, visit our events calendar!
