Body Found; Suspected to be Missing Goodfish Lake Woman

This morning, members of the St. Paul RCMP detachment, with support from local volunteers as well as Search and Rescue personnel, located the body of a deceased woman, which was identified tentatively as that of Alannah Cardinal.  The body was found in the area of Goodfish Lake where she was last reported seen alive.

The police investigation to date has determined the circumstances surrounding this death to be non-suspicious.  Nevertheless, a full investigation is being conducted by RCMP investigators, the RCMP’s Forensic Identification Section (FIS) and the Edmonton Medical Examiner’s office.

Ms. Cardinal’s family have been informed and are receiving support from the Victim Services Unit at this most difficult time.
