Bonnyville Man Arrested 4 times in 10 days

On July 15th, 2016 in the early afternoon constables with the Bonnyville RCMP Detachment were on their way to assist a female in retrieving belongings from her estranged husband when they were flagged down by a citizen. The citizen reported an impaired driver and when police initiated a traffic stop with the suspect vehicle it was the estranged husband, a 40 year old male resident of Bonnyville.

The male was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle as well as breach of court compelling conditions he received on July 11th, 2016, which included to abstain absolutely from the consumption of alcohol.  The male was transported to the Bonnyville RCMP detachment where he provided samples of his breath which resulted in readings well over two times the legal limit where he was later released on court compelling documents by a justice of the peace.

Between July 10th, 2016 and July 20th, 2016 the male was arrested on 4 separate occasions resulted in multiple charges including: Uttering threats against a person, assault, impaired operation, and multiple counts for failing to comply.  On July 20th, 2016 the male was remanded into police custody to appear before a provincial court judge in Bonnyville, AB on July 26th, 2016.

The charges have not been sworn on this matter therefore we cannot release the name of the individual however you can obtain his name from court on his first appearance date.
