Search of Glendon Residence finds large number of Stolen Goods: 1 Man Charged

On June 24th, 2016 at approximately 9:30 PM, officers of the Bonnyville RCMP Detachment attended a residence in Glendon, AB to execute a search warrant.   Derrick PRESTON, 22 years of age, was arrested for outstanding warrants and for investigational purposes regarding the search of his residence.  Two other males were located in the residence and were arrested in relation to the search warrant however they were released soon after confirming they were not involved.

A search of the property located numerous stolen items including a grey 2006 Chevrolet Equinox, household goods, a solar panel, a boat motor and alloy rims.  Police also located a sawed off 12 gauge shot gun. Derrick PRESTON was transported to the Bonnyville RCMP Detachment where he was lodged into the detachment cells.

Derrick PRESTON was remanded into police custody where he remains facing charges of possession of stolen property over $5000 x2, possession of stolen property under $5000 x4, unauthorized use of a credit card, careless use of a firearm, possession of a weapon obtained by crime, and 12 charges of failing to comply with his conditions.  Derrick PRESTON next appears in Bonnyville Provincial Court on July 19th, 2016 for his charges.

Officers of the Bonnyville RCMP Detachment have been able to link recovered stolen property to a number of outstanding theft files however there is still outstanding property.  The Bonnyville RCMP Detachment is requesting that citizens attend the Bonnyville RCMP Detachment who have failed to report their property stolen including but not limited to: generators, shop vacuums, batteries, power tools, tool, sporting goods, and household goods.  Police are asking that when you attend you provide serial numbers or very detailed descriptions of your items along with photographs.  Please advise that you are reporting after seeing this media release.  Police are also asking that residents who have previously reported thefts but were unable to provide serial numbers or detailed accounts of their items to attend to provide more information about their stolen items if possible.
