An out-of-control vehicle narrowly missed Canada Day celebrators in Elk Point Friday afternoon. Luckily, there were no injuries to any bystanders.

Emergency crews are on scene assisting the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle. Witness say the car speed out-of-control through a field next to the stage where kids from the 4H Multiclub were performing a dog agility demonstration.

The car took out a tent, and near-missed several elderly persons who were watching the performances.  After knocking the tent over the car veered into a parked police cruiser before it smashed into an SUV that was parked on the side of the beer gardens; which had occupants in it at the time.

It is unknown what caused the accident. Witnesses say the driver was an elderly woman.
