Rash of Vehicle Thefts in Cold Lake

The Cold Lake RCMP would like to warn the public that there has been an increase of vehicle thefts lately. The public is reminded to always lock their vehicles, and never leave items of value in vehicles unattended.

From June 10-18th there were five vehicle thefts from the Cold Lake area.

June 10th – a 2006 Ford F250 Superduty truck & camper were stolen from Bee Safe Storage in Cold Lake North

June 13th – a 2006 Ford F350 was stolen during the night from a residential driveway in Ardmore.

June 14th –  a red 2009 Pontiac G6 was stolen from 64th avenue in Cold Lake. The vehicle got some attention that night when it was used in a gas & dash in Gibbons, AB at the Fas Gas. The vehicle was then spotted off Highway 28 in the ditch by a St. Paul RCMP member, who was on regular patrols.

June 18th – While an RCMP member was on patrol looking for a stolen quad in the Sandy Beach-Crane Lake area, he came across a yellow Yamaha that appear suspicious. The member called in the quad and it was found to have been stolen. RCMP note that the quad trail around the Sandy Beach-Crane Lake area is a hot spot for stolen vehicles.
