Cold Lake RCMP Crack Down on Drinking & Driving
After stopping three impaired drivers in two days, the Cold Lake RCMP Detachment would like to remind the public to always plan ahead; if you’re going to be drinking – don’t drive.
On June 16th at 2:30 am, Cold Lake RCMP pulled over a suspected impaired driver on Highway 28 near the Casino & Mission Road. A 48 year old female, from Bonnyville, blew over the legal limit and was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle. The woman will appear in Cold Lake Provincial Court June 27th at 10:00 am.
Later that evening, at 6:40 pm, RCMP stopped a vehicle for speeding on Township Road 592 and Highway 897. The driver, a 35 year old male from Edson, showed signs of drug and alcohol consumption. He was issued a 24 hour suspension, as well as traffic violation tickets.
On June 18th at 1:56 am, Cold Lake RCMP pulled over a suspected impaired driver on 50th avenue. A 60 year old male, from Cold Lake, was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle after he blew over the legal limit. He will appear in Cold Lake Provincial Court on June 27th at 10:00 am.
