Elk Point Receives Provincial Safety Award

The Town of Elk Point has received an award from Alberta’s Municipal Affairs and the Safety Code’s Council. The award, The Municipal Safety Recognition Award, recognizes the work the Town commitment to Alberta’s safety systems with 20 years accreditation under the Safety Codes Act.

The award was established in 2003 to recognize municipalities that have achieved significant milestones in their accreditation histories. The Town received a letter sent by Danielle Larivee, the Minister of Municipal Affairs, thanking the community, “we appreciate the excellent services you provide Albertans.”

“The safety of all Albertans is the most important priority of the relationship that has evolved between the Government of Alberta, the Safety Codes Council and Alberta’s accreditation municipalities.” Minister Larivee noted the Municipal Affairs office is looking forward to a long relationship with the community, “we thank you for your dedication and look forward to continuing to work with you in promoting the highest possible level of safety in Alberta communities.”
