NLSD selects new Associate Superintendent of System Improvement
Northern Lights School Division No. 69 is pleased to announce that Bill Driedger has been chosen as the Division’s new Associate Superintendent of System Improvement.
“The (interview) committee was impressed with Bill’s focus on students and engaging stakeholders to enhance student achievement,” said Superintendent Rick Cusson. “Bill’s extensive leadership experience at the jurisdiction level will be a huge asset for Northern Lights.”
Driedger is currently Deputy Superintendent at Fort Vermilion School Division. He has over 21 years of experience in public education, including nine years in school administration at the elementary and secondary level and nine years of leadership at the jurisdictional level. Prior to his role as Deputy Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent of Operations, Driedger served as a Director of Literacy and Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning with Fort Vermilion.
“I am very excited to be joining Northern Lights School Division. The stated mission
of the division, Working Together to Help Every Student Learn and Excel, corresponds well with my personal philosophy of education of creating and maintaining a collaborative, caring and authentic learning environment to ensure that every student experiences success,” said Driedger. “It has been a very rewarding challenge to serve in a variety of different educational roles in the past 22 years, and I look forward to my new role as I contribute to Northern Lights School Division by working alongside dedicated staff in ensuring great learning opportunities for students.”
As Associate Superintendent of System Improvement, Driedger will be responsible for school plans and data analysis, information technology, community partnerships and alternate and innovative programming, including NLSD’s outreach programs, before and after school care, mobile trades lab, trades exposure program, and C-School. He will officially join Northern Lights on August 1.
