Yesterday, May 26th, there was a collision at the intersection of Highway 55 and 28; which revealed one of the two drivers shouldn’t have been on the road… Interesting enough it wasn’t the driver in the wrong.

Despite being in the early stages of investigating the collision, RCMP were able to determine a few things. First, the collision was not caused by alcohol, rather it appears that one vehicle was not obeying the traffic lights. Second, the driver, who was in the right as far as driving is concerned, should not have been on the road at all. The driver of the vehicle hit, a 27 year old Cold Lake man, had a suspended license, as well as, no insurance.

Identities of both drivers have not been disclosed as no one has been charged, yet. There will likely be charges and/or tickets issued for the driver of the vehicle whom caused the collision; as well as, tickets and possible charges for the person who was driving without a license and no insurance. Driving without insurance carries a $3,000+ fine.
