Sometime in the late evening of May 17th or early morning May 18th Kelly’s Closet in Elk Point was broken into. Elk Point RCMP S/Sgt Barry LaRocque says it appears that mainly mens clothing was stolen during the break-in.
“Primarily men’s clothes, hats, jeans and t-shirts. There was a very pointed attack into it,” S/Sgt LaRocque says it would be speculative to say that the thief or thieves had taken the clothing to wear or was a man.
According to the store’s Facebook page, the brand of clothing
- Jeans: Silver and Buffalo
- Hats: Metal Mulisha, Ten Tree and Fox
- Hoodies: Metal Mulisha, Ten Tree, Red Dragon and Bench
- T-Shirts: Ten Tree, Buffalo, Guess, Etnies and Fox
The store also indicated that the clothing was large and extra-large sizes.
At this time the Elk Point RCMP Detachment has no reason to believe other stores in town have reason to believe they may fall victim to theft. S/Sgt LaRocque says that if you have a security system in place to use it. The Detachment reports there has not been any other business break-ins in the last month, but it is still important to maintain your security systems.
If you witnessed anything suspicious, or notice these items for sale on online sales sites, the Elk Point RCMP would like to hear from you. “Whether it’s over computer, or someone selling out of car, or whatever; you can contact us and we’ll follow it up from there,” states S/Sgt LaRocque.
