Rebuilding the Fort Benefit Concert set for June 11th
When Renee Malo heard of the Fort McMurray fires the first thing she thought was, ‘how can I help?’ The Cold Lake musician knows the power of music and the power of a rockin’ concert; naturally she decided to host a benefit show. After meeting with Mayor of Cold Lake, Craig Copeland, today, Renee says she has set a date for the show, dubbed Rebuilding the Fort. The event will be held June 11th at the Cold Lake Energy Centre field house.
Along with Renee Malo, another other local group have signed on to perform at the benefit concert; Midlife Crisis. There’s a few other acts who are working on confirming the date with Renee. Any groups interested in performing are encouraged to contact Renee.
The show will be free to all Fort McMurray residents and families, just display a ID with a Fort Mac address. For the general public it’ll be by donation, with all money raised going to the Fort McMurray Relief efforts. There is a need for items, such as donations for our silent auction and sponsorships.
Renee says there will be a focus on the First Responders, such as Cold Lake Fire Rescue.
If you would like to donate to the event or are a performer wanting to join contact Renee Malo at 780-207-1107.
LCN will keep you posted as more information comes in.
