4 Arrested, 1 Charged in Mischief & Liquor Theft in Cold Lake

On April 30th at approximately 8:30 pm, Cold Lake RCMP were called regarding multiple teenagers causing mischief on 51st avenue. RCMP attended and located a group of teens and young adults, that were found to be responsible for stealing liquor from Sobey’s Liquor Store (downtown location), earlier in the day.  Four people were arrested, three of the four were suspected to be responsible for the theft with security camera footage identification.

A 23 year old male, Patrick Cardinal, from Bonnyville, was charged with two counts of breaching probation and one count of obstructing a peace officer. The obstruction steams from Cardinal providing a false name to RCMP. He was brought before a Justice of the Peace and bail was denied. Cardinal was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on May 11th at 10:00 am in Cold Lake

Charges have not yet been laid on the other in relation to the theft from Sobey’s Liquor Store. Arrested were males aged, a 14 (Westaskawin), 15 (Elizabeth Metis Settlement) and 20 (Cold Lake). Police cannot release the name of minors nor names of persons not formally charged in a court of law.
