Peace Officer Rolls Up in time to Stop Thief

On April 22, at 7:15 pm, a City of Cold Lake Peace Officer was on patrol by the downtown Sobey’s Liquor Store, on 50th avenue. At the same time a theft had occurred at the store and the officer was waved down to help.

The community peace officer located the suspect, who was bleeding, from his hands. RCMP backup were called and once they arrived the suspect resisted arrest. The officers were able to take the suspect into custody, where three knives were found in his possession.

It is unknown why the man’s hands were bleeding.

The suspect, a 33 year old man, from Cold Lake is known to police. The suspect’s name was not released to the media, at this time.
