9 Year Old Frog Lake Girl Located after Missing over 12 Hours

On April 27, 2016 at 11:14 p.m. the Elk Point RCMP received a complaint that at approximately 6:00 p.m. a 9 year old girl and her three dogs had walked away from her residence on Frog Lake First Nations.  When the police arrived, members of the community had been searching for the girl already and continued through the night.
As the RCMP were preparing for a more intensive ground and air search on April 28, 2016 the girl walked out of the bush at 7:00 a.m. and was discovered by a community member and taken home.  The girl was taken to the Elk Point Hospital as a precaution and determined not to have any injuries, frostbite nor hypothermia.
When the RCMP spoke to the girl, she indicated that her three dogs laid beside her throughout the night and kept her warm.
The Elk Point RCMP want to acknowledge the unwavering efforts of the Frog Lake First Nations community in searching for the little girl throughout the night.
