RCMP Investigate Driveby Shooting in Cold Lake

On April 19th, the Cold Lake RCMP responded to a complaint of shots fired, from a vehicle, at a residence in the north.

When the RCMP arrived the  suspect vehicle, as well as, the occupant’s vehicle had fled the scene.

“We believe the home occupants didn’t want to wait around for the police, either.” S/Sgt of the Cold Lake Detachment, Jeremie Landry says the RCMP is investigation a connection between the drive by and the Molotov cocktail incident; which occurred the day before.

Police can confirm at least three bullets were fired, as they found three bullet holes in the residence.

RCMP have subjects of interest in mind, but ask anyone with information on this incident to contact the Cold Lake RCMP Detachment at 780-594-3302.

“We don’t believe the general public is at any risk for Molotov cocktails or drive by shootings. Excluding stray bullets,” S/Sgt Landry says the public should not panic, “we believe the suspects are known to each other.”

Both residences were known to police prior to both incidences.
