On April 14th, 2016 at approximately 2:00 AM, a Constable with the Bonnyville RCMP Detachment was conducting routine patrols in the town of Bonnyville when they observed a vehicle bearing a licence plate that did not match the vehicle.
A traffic stop was conducted with the vehicle and through investigation it was learned that the driver, a 45 year old male resident of Kehewin, AB, was wanted out of Cold Lake RCMP Detachment for charges of Uttering Threats along with being on conditions to only be in a motor vehicle if the registered owner was present. The male was arrested for his outstanding warrants.
Checks on the passengers, 1 male and 3 females, determined that the registered owner was not present and that one of the passengers, a 26 year old female resident of Edmonton, AB, had originally provided the police with the wrong name and was also wanted out of Cold Lake RCMP Detachment for Fraudulent use of a Credit Card and Possession of Stolen Property .
The male driver was released on scene on court compelling documents for both his outstanding warrants and a charge of Failing to Comply with conditions.
The female passenger was arrested for Obstructing a Peace Officer and for her outstanding warrants and was transported to the Bonnyville RCMP Detachment where she was put before a Justice of the Peace who released her on court compelling documents.
