New Motto for SPERD

St. Paul Education Regional Division has selected a new motto, “Learning Together, Growing Together”. Coming up with a new motto was part of a division-wide contest explains Board of Trustees chair Heather Starosielski

“The Board of Trustees selected the winning entry from Wanda Lysons of St. Paul.  Ms. Lysons is a parent whose children are enrolled in St. Paul Education.” Starosielski explains, the motto was chosen following a contest that allowed students, parents, teachers, and community members to participate by sending in mottos. Lysons will recieve a 64GB iPAD for her submission and the honour of having her motto used division wide to represent SPERD.

“The new motto reflects the Division’s mission and value statements that were redeveloped last year through an extensive community consultation,” states Starosielski.  The previous motto, “Providing for cultural, linguistic, and religious diversity” was used for twenty years prior to this contest. “The new motto will be launched through social media and incorporated in existing business material as inventory is replaced.”
