Highway 63 Impassable due to Wildfire

A wildland fire that broke out shortly before 7:00 PM has made Highway 63 impassable at this time. The fire is straddling the highway and fire crews are on scene battling the blaze.

On April 18th, 2016 shortly before 7:00 PM a wildland fire broke out along Highway 63. Wildland fire fighter crews and air support are on scene battling the fire presently. The fire has already jumped a service road along the Highway and billowing smoke has reduced visibility in the area.

There is no estimated time when Highway 63 will once again be passable, both northbound and southbound lanes are blocked. A detour is being setup to direct traffic around the affected area. There are no reported injuries or buildings in danger at this time.
