Kehewin Man Arrested following Domestic Assault: Gave Police False Name

On April 8th, 2016 at approximately 11:00 PM, the Bonnyville RCMP Detachment received a 911 call for service regarding a domestic assault.  Police officers from the Bonnyville RCMP Detachment attended a home in Kehewin, AB and through investigation learned that a female, 24 years of age, had been assaulted causing minor injuries, by her common law husband, 23 years of age.

The male was known to police and was believed to be wanted on charges out of St. Paul, AB.  While police were on scene the male returned to the residence and provided a false name to police. The male as arrested for his outstanding warrants along with assault and obstruction. The male was transported to the Bonnyville RCMP Detachment and was remanded into custody by a Justice of the Peace.  The male is to appear in Bonnyville Provincial Court on April 19th, 2016 for charges of Assault and Obstructing a Peace Officer.

The male appear in St. Paul Provincial court at a later date for a charge of Unlawfully at Large for which he was wanted for.
