Bonnyville & Cold Lake RCMP Work to Bring in Wanted Man

On April 9th, 2016 at approximately 1:00 PM, a Constable with the Bonnyville RCMP Detachment was conducting patrols in the town of Bonnyville.  The Constable noted a Chrysler Sebring that turned suddenly when the Constable pulled in behind it.  Police checks on the licence plate showed that the plate was expired and was not associated to the Sebring.  A vehicle stop was attempted to however the vehicle fled from police at a high rate of speed.

Through investigation and observations made by the Constable, the identity of the driver was learned and he was later arrested.  The driver, a 20 year old resident of Cold Lake First Nations, was arrested and transported to the Bonnyville RCMP Detachment where he was remanded into custody.  After being arrested, the Bonnyville RCMP Detachment was contacted by Cold Lake RCMP who advised that they had outstanding charges for the driver as well.

The male will appear in Bonnyville Provincial Court on April 19th, 2016 for charges of Operation of a Motor Vehicle while being Pursued, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Driving while Prohibited, Failing to Comply with Conditions along with offences under the Traffic Safety Act.  The male will also appear in Cold Lake Provincial Court on April 13th, 2016 for Breach of a Conditional Sentence Order X2, Breach of Probation and Traffic Safety Act charges.
