Cold Lake Man threatens to take Life over WCB Claim

The Cold Lake RCMP received a call from Alberta Works, on April 5th, regarding a man who was upset over his WCB (Worker’s Compensation Board) claim.

The police were previously notified from WCB and the Premier’s office regarding the same man. Allegedly, the man had contacted the Premier’s office to complain about his WCB claim. Police say the report shows the man stated that he would take his life at the Legislative Building if he was not satisfied with his WCB claim.

The Cold Lake RCMP responded to the call from Alberta Works. Upon arrival, there was mental health concerns, so the RCMP arrested the 47 year old man, under the Mental Health Act.

The man was taken to the Cold Lake Hospital for an assessment.
