Cold Lake RCMP Briefs February 20-24th, 2016

Mid-Morning Intoxicated Driver

On February 20th, 2016 Cold Lake RCMP received a 911 call, at 11:45 am, regarding a suspected drunk driver near the Bottle Depot on Highway 28. RCMP located the vehicle and were able to conduct a roadside traffic stop.

The driver, a 28 year old female, from Island Lake First Nations, Saskatchewan, failed a roadside screening test. After providing breath samples of over double the legal limit, the female was arrested. She was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle while over the legal limit of 0.08, and driving a motor vehicle, while unauthorized.

 

Passed out at Subway 

RCMP received a complaint from Subway, at 6:30 pm, on February 20th, of an intoxicated male who was passed out at the restaurant. RCMP attended and arrested a 32 year old male from the Cold Lake First Nations for disturbing the peace for being intoxicated in a public place.

The man was taken into custody until sober, then released with a ticket under the Gaming & Liquor Act for being intoxicated in public. The ticket was for $115.00

 

Loud Mufflers leads to Impaired Charge

On February 23rd, at approximately 10:00 pm, RCMP received a complaint of a suspicious vehicle with loud mufflers. Members were able to locate the vehicle on Cold Lake First Nations, where they conducted a traffic stop.

The driver, an 18 year old male, from the Cold Lake First Nations, was visibly impaired and provided breath samples of over double the legal limit. He was arrested and has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle while over the legal limit 0.08.

 

Suspicious Vehicle Call leads to Impaired Charge

At 11:00 pm, on February 24th, RCMP received a complaint regarding a suspicious vehicle on Highway 28. RCMP located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop, where the driver failed a roadside screening.

RCMP arrested & charged a 26 year old male from Cold Lake. The male provided two breath samples over the legal limit. He has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and driving over the legal limit of 0.08.
