Two Charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in cocaine and methamphetamine have been laid against Anthony Schmidt and Andrew Heigh in relation to their February 23, 2016, arrest. BACKGROUND
On February 23, 2016, at 3:40 a.m. Cold Lake RCMP conducted a traffic stop on 50th street in Cold Lake. Cocaine, Methamphetamine, along with a loaded shotgun with the safety off, were found inside the vehicle.
Anthony Schmidt, 22 years old of Cold Lake, has been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, transport a firearm in a careless manner, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, possession of a firearm without a license and operating a motor vehicle while disqualified. Anthony Schmidt remains in custody and is next scheduled to appear at Cold Lake Provincial Court on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at 10:00 a.m.
Andrew Heigh, 24 years old of Cold Lake, has been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, transport a firearm in a careless manner, and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public. Andrew Heigh remains in custody and is next scheduled to appear at Cold Lake Provincial court on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at 10:00 a.m.
