William Cross Arrested Twice in 2 Days

William Paul Cross, the 19 year old Cold Lake man who pled guilty to mischief after vandalizing the Cold Lake Mosque in November of 2015, was arrested twice, in two days last weekend. In January, Cross pled guilty to criminal vandalism and was given nine months probation. On February 12th and February 14th, Cold Lake RCMP report they arrested and Cross for various offenses, each incident involved alcohol and were in violation of Cross’ probation.

On February 12th at 8:00 pm, Cold Lake RCMP were dispatched to a complaint of a theft at the Sobey’s Liquor Store, downtown Cold Lake on 50th Avenue. When RCMP attended, they located the suspect in store and arrested him. William Cross has been charged with theft under $500 and failing to comply with a probation order.

The second arrest happened on February 14th at 1:30 am. Cold Lake RCMP received a complaint of two males yelling at each other, behind 49th avenue. RCMP attended and arrested two males, one of whom was William Cross. There was a third male, however he fled, on foot, before RCMP were able to arrest him. Cross was charged with two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking for consuming alcohol, failing to keep the peace, and failing to comply with a probation order.

Cross was released on $400 cash bail, with more court conditions. His next court appearance is February 24th at 10:00 am.
