Health Foundation will take You to the Moon & Back Saturday

On Saturday, the Bonnyville Health Foundation will host their annual Hospital Gala at the Centennial Centre. The gala, known for their exciting themes, is one of the most anticipated events on the community’s social calendar. Gala organizer, Laura Sheplawy says this year’s theme will be very cosmic, To the Moon & Back, “you’ll be pretty much landing on the moon!”

“We’re about 90 percent sold out, we only have a few tables left,” Sheplawy says if you’ve been waiting on purchasing your tickets now is the time to secure a spot at the event. If you’re not able to make the event, but would like to help the Health Foundation, a great way to so is by donating a silent auction item, “we are always welcoming silent auction items and it’s not to late to donate,” confirms Sheplawy.

“We have a lot of really good auction items,” Sheplawy explains there will be some trips up for grabs at the event, including a trip to celebrate 125 years of Fiesta in San Antonio, Texas. “This year is the 125th Anniversary of Fiesta, I think that’s going to be a hit. The Fiesta is amazing! It’s in the downtown area, near the river walk.” San Antonio is known for its scenic river walk and the Fiesta celebration.

Like the theme, each year the Foundation picks a different area of the hospital, upgrade, or a needed piece of equipment to benefit from the event. This year, the gala will benefit women’s health with the proceeds going towards purchasing a coliposcope, which is used for a procedure known as a coliposcopy.
