Man Arrested for Stealing Donations Destined for Stollery

On December 22nd, the Cold Lake RCMP received a complaint from the Recycling Centre in the City. The centre reported the theft of their donation box, which was filled with approximately $200 in money destined for the Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton.

On December 22, 2015, Cold Lake RCMP investigated a theft at the Cold Lake Bottle Depot of a donation box containing $200, that was destined for the Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton.  After an investigation, Cold Lake RCMP arrested an adult male from Cold Lake who personated Jared Jacknife of the Elizabeth Metis Settlement.

Jared Jacknife was not involved whatsoever in the theft at the Bottle Depot and is assisting RCMP with this investigation.  Cold Lake RCMP have sought an arrest warrant for the suspect responsible for the theft, as well as the personation.  Further details will be released once the arrest warrant has been issued.
