The Cold Lake and Bonnyville RCMP Detachments joined forces in a month-long investigation which lead to the arrest of a 33-year-old man. The man, who was arrested on August 15th was identified in a string of break and enters in The Lakeland area.
The man was charged with a number of offenses; which include,one count of theft over $5,000, one count of theft under $5,000, and one count of resisting a peace officer. More charges may come, as the police continue their investigation into the man, whom they believe could be connected to as many as twelve other B&E cases and thefts at local businesses in Cold Lake. Police suspect he could be connected to B&Es at the Western Budget Motel, King’s Court Motel and at Royal LaPage.
The 33-year-old is no stranger to crime, according to police, he has a past charges of theft in The Lakeland, Cold Lake & Bonnyville, as well as, Red Deer. He has also been found to be in the possession of tools known to be used in B&Es.
The man, who was remanded to police custody, is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, August 26th, 2015.
