Jail Cell Brawl

On August 10, The Cold Lake RCMP arrested and brought in a Cold Lake First Nation’s man to the detachment for detainment. The 31-year-old man,  who was believed to be under the influence of a controlled substance, was arrested for causing a disturbance in public.

The man became combative with the police after he was brought to the cells in the back of the detachment.There was a scuffle between the man and five officers, that eventually ended with the man being subdued by officers. No officers harmed in the incident.

The man appeared in court on August 12th, 2015 with one charge of assaulting a police officer, two charges for failing to comply with conditions of a recognizance, one count of resisting arrest, and one count of mischief. The man will appear again on August 26, 2015.
