Fatal Collision on Highway 28

On Saturday, July 18th, 2015, at approximately 1:00 pm, The St. Paul RCMP responded to a call regarding a vehicle collision on Highway 28.

There were two vehicles travelling eastbound on the highway, when the first vehicle, a pickup truck,  stopped to turn left about 5 kms west of Ashmont at Range Road 114. The pickups driver, a 29-year-old male was waiting for traffic to clear to turn when his vehicle was struck by the second vehicle, an SUV, travelling behind him. The SUV struck the pick up from behind.

The driver of the SUV, a 57-year-old women, died following the collision. Two passengers in the SUV were transported by St. Paul emergency services to St. Therese Hospital in St. Paul and have since been released.

The driver of the pickup truck was not injured in the collision.
