Police looking for youth victims of 41-year-old woman in a crimes against person investigation

The Alberta RCMP is seeking public assistance in a crimes against person investigation involving youth online.

On Aug. 24, 2021, Alberta RCMP entered into an investigation for crimes against persons that were committed online involving youth. The offences are believed to have occurred in Northeastern Alberta sometime prior to approximately June 2021.

Alberta RCMP investigators have identified a subject of their investigation, Venessa Leeann Horsnett, 41. Alberta RCMP are seeking to locate individuals who may have been contacted by Venessa Horsnett or by someone matching Horsnett’s description as it is possible she may have been using an alias.

Lakeland Connect has learned that the offenses may have occurred in the Smokey Lake area.

Venessa Horsnett is described as:

  • 5’7” tall
  • 254 lbs
  • Light complexion
  • Black hair
  • Blue eyes
