Bonnyville RCMP search warrant results in charges for drug and weapons offences

During the execution of a search warrant by the Bonnyville RCMP several individuals from the Lakeland have been arrested.

On Feb. 8, the Bonnyville RCMP, Bonnyville GIS and Lakeland RCMP Crime Reduction Unit located a male wanted on multiple outstanding warrants at a residence in the Town of Bonnyville.

Police also located a firearm, a collapsible baton, a throwing knife; as well as, six grams of suspected methamphetamine and a small quantity of suspected psilocybin mushrooms.

Kristopher Funk, 41, of Elk Point,  Jennifer Furry, 29, of Bonnyville and Charlene Odynski, 34, of Elk Point, have each been charged with:

  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of a firearm when knowing possession is unauthorized
  • Careless use of a firearm
  • Possession of a controlled substance.

Kristopher Funk is further charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon and unsafe storage of a firearm.

Jennifer Furry and Charlene Odynski were released from custody with conditions and are scheduled to appear in Bonnyville Provincial Court on Mar. 22, 2022.

Following a judicial hearing Kristopher Funk was released with conditions and is also scheduled to appear in Bonnyville Provincial Court on Mar. 1, 2022.

As this matter is before the court no further information can be released.
