Bonnyville RCMP charge three for attempted car jacking; one arrested, two wanted – Update Desjarlais arrested
Police have located and arrested a man wanted on outstanding warrants.
According to an RCMP news release, “On Jan. 31, at about 2:15 p.m., the Bonnyville RCMP with the assistance of Cold Lake RCMP, Lakeland Crime Reduction Unit and RCMP Police Dog Services have located and arrested Joshua Lawrence Desjarlais, 32, on his outstanding warrants.
Desjarlais was located at a residence on Elizabeth Metis Settlement.
Cpl. Shawn Morgan is a Media Relations Officer with the Eastern Alberta RCMP.
“A loaded firearm was also recovered which is believed to have been used by Desjarlais during the commission of the offences,” Cpl. Shawn Morgan said. “No one was physically harmed during the arrest.”
Desjarlais has been remanded in custody following a Judicial Hearing. He is scheduled to appear in Bonnyville Provincial Court on Feb. 10, 2022.
The Bonnyville RCMP are still seeking Laine Solway-Martial, 23, of Elizabeth Metis Settlement and are asking the public’s assistance for any information in relation to Solway’s whereabouts.
