STRATEGIC PLAN

Town Council approved the 2021-2031 Strategic Plan. The goal of this strategic plan is to sustain Bonnyville’s family-friendly lifestyle and vibrant community atmosphere while continuing to build a strong economic climate that is welcoming to new and current entrepreneurs. The planning process reviewed the challenges and potential for the community and the needs of the residents and businesses. The five areas of focus for the Strategic Plan are economic growth, recreation and wellness, communication strategy, value added services, and service excellence.

WINTERLAND INVITATIONAL

An $8,000 ‘Ambassador’ sponsorship package was approved by Council for the Ronald McDonald House Charities Winterland Invitational, which has gone virtual again this year. The Winterland Invitational has become a premier Family Day Weekend event in the Lakeland. Due to COVID-19, this year’s event is once again planned as an entire month of family favourite winter activities. Proceeds from the Winterland Invitational go to support families who need to stay at the Ronald McDonald House.

DRY FEBRUARY

Mayor Elisa Brosseau along with Councillors Byron Johnson and Phil Kushnir will be participating in a Local Dry February fundraising challenge for the month of February. The Bonnyville Health Foundation is spearheading the campaign by asking members of Council to have a healthy start to 2022 by making a personal goal to abstain from alcohol for the short month of February.
